Beryl
A family of gemstones that includes emerald, aquamarine and morganite, amongst others. Known for producing quite sizable gems that are bright, sparkly but lacking fire, in a range of pastel hues. Green beryl used to be routinely heated to turn it blue and make it an aquamarine - but the natural green colour is attractive enough without man interfering.
