The most famous member of the beryl group of gemstones. Available in all shades of green, from pale peppermint to intense grass green. Examples with good clarity are very rare, the crystals form with natural cracks and fissures. For centuries these fissures have been treated with the application of natural oils. Stones are mostly valued for their colour, the more intense the green the better.
