Inspired by a quote by French designer Paul Iribe in 1930, “Sacrifice the flower on the altar of cubism and the machine”, the design represents a literal re-interpretation of a foliate branch, rendered in a wholly cubist or mechanical fashion, totally devoid of curves or organic lines, yet still retaining the essence of a naturalistic floral composition.
